This week in photography-fog

What can I tell you except that this week in Connecticut felt more like a week in London. I guess with the changing temperatures and the precipitation it is only inevitable for some foggy conditions. It is also a great time to capture some dramatic images. Here is an interesting video on shooting in the fog.

Never let the rain or fog keep you from capturing photographs, you can achieve some interesting images with the light.

Abstract artist

David called me to photograph him for his website. He was planning to upgrade his site and also wanted me to photograph his pieces of art so he could sell them online. We picked a nice day because many of his pieces are large and we wanted to get the images taken outside. To have images for social media I now take many more images. But I still always want to tell a story.

I try to show as many different “looks” as I can to make the website look interesting.

For websites or for branding photography, I like to show the viewer what a typical day might be, tell the story.

David is a Westport artist and lives very close to me. I run or bike by his studio almost every day. He sometimes works outside or on the porch and I think his work is amazing!

This is my favorite shot of him. It happened to be the last picture too! See more of his work by clicking here.

International women’s day

I photograph many people in my studio. I will do a bunch on location as well. It really depends what kind of look that you are going for. My studio images are a little more like “headshot” mode, but I am really looking for expressions of the face. I always like to say, ” let’s go for the approachable look”. Friendly etc….. In honor of International women’s day, I would like to introduce you to Andrea. Andrea is working in sales and came to me for a professional portrait.

These are amazing!  Wow… I’m SO HAPPY with the way they came out!!!

Winter Images

Living in Connecticut is such a joy. As much as I enjoy Florida or California, I really like having four seasons. The changing light, foliage and colors gives me an opportunity to capture ever changing images. Winter is one of my favorite times of year because of the crisp air and clear nights. I still would like to do a star trail shoot before spring so hopefully I will get that up here too. I will research youtube and other photographers to get an idea of how to pull it off and make it look exciting and fun.

These are a few of the many images that I have taken over the winter. Thank you for looking.
