Photography for design and build

Photographing for architects and builders is very enjoyable for me. In most cases, these jobs take a half day or a full day of photography. Unlike with real estate photography, this is a little slower and more thought out. The angles are always very important but the lighting set up is different. For real estate you have only an hour to shoot all rooms, but with architects, it might take an hour to do a single room. Why? It is because the lighting is now more unique lighting setups and in many cases… light painting.

In both cases I will try to do my best to get the “feel” for the environment by choosing light and angles that will make the space look flattering. Windows with a view, close ups of a wooden floor. These are special things to capture because someone ( the architect ) went through a lot of trouble to showcase a specific thought, or design.

I have been fortunate to work with many builders and architects and they all want to showcase their work. To do a right, you have to hire a photographer that will capture and show their visions. This is why I enjoy photographing for these professionals. I have photographed many properties for Michael Greenberg and it is total satisfaction to present photography that shows his vision.

Bike and shoot

I really enjoy photographing while biking. I can get a bike into almost anywhere and when I see something, I can easily pedal on over and get the shot. I use a Fujifilm x20 for all my biking photography. This camera is very light and simple to use. It has a built in zoom so I can cover a lot of area and be as creative as I need to be.

Canondale bycycle

I also enjoy riding the Rail trails in this area. There are plenty of books and webpages to investigate and ride. This trail is part of The Empire State Trailway which when finished, can take you from one end of New York to the other.

The Empire State Trail incorporates many rail trails that connect with each other. This particular trail is the Maybrook Trailway which leads into the Putnam Trailway.

The bridges are so old.
They just finished the Maybrook this year. 2021
The Poughkeepsie Rail Bridge also known as the walkway over the hudson was the end of the trail for me.
and I brought my drone too.

There are many apps out there for riding. I like to use trail link. It is very easy to use and very informative. Enjoy the ride!

daffodils with a macro lens

The neighbors caught me lying on a blanket on my front lawn just inches from my subjects. I have a great macro lens that I use for my close up photography. I heard about this lens while I was working in Florida at One Kreate. The top photographer down there recommended this lens to me and I have always been happy with it. It is a 50mm canon 1.5 lens, an oldie but a real goodie.

MOCA Art Opening

I have photographed many openings but I was really blown away by the art of Marilyn Minter. Her videos were mesmerizing, I could not take my eyes off of them. The way it was produced with the graphic sharpness and interesting colors. It is truly a must see. MOCA of Westport is the perfect place to view art, they have so much to offer the community.

MOCA has an interior that is perfect for art.
Marilyn Minter’s Pacer was a fun find.

“ There’s this constant distortion that’s happening between all of us…there’s a sense of failure. But at the same time, all of this pleasure.”—Marilyn Minter

The art enthusiast’s were treated to a great show.

awesome toy store

Here is a perfect example of branding photography. I photographed The Awesome Toy Store in Westport for Westport Lifestyle Magazine. The clients were so happy that they purchased the images from me and are using them for their website and marketing campaign. One of the most important things a photographer has to do on a shoot is make the client feel comfortable so that you can get images that look natural and unforced.

My kids love this place and shop here often.
showing lots of product
never ending puzzles
A coffee bar too!!
I could not fit in these, but I tried.
You can have fun in a toy store.

Branding photography is a must when you need content for your website and marketing. These images could and will be used for social media. It is always a win win to do this for your business.
